Tracy Aller



Tracy D. Aller has been a lifelong resident of River Grove.  She attended Rhodes School, East Leyden High School, completed her Undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana and then obtained her Law Degree from John Marshall Law School in 1994. Tracy is in private practice with the Law Offices of Sandra K. Burns in River Forest, Illinois specializing in Family Law. 
Tracy has been an elected a member of the Board of Trustees of the Village since 1991, and at that time, was one of the youngest elected individuals in the State. She currently serves as the Chair of the Finance Committee and sits on the Public Works and Buildings and Grounds Committees.
Tracy has been an active member of the River Grove Beautification Committee since graduating College in 1990, has organized several Garden Walks as part of the Committee and is currently the Committee’s Secretary. She is also a member of the River Grove Moose Lodge and is an active member in the River Grove Lions Club, having been the first Woman to serve in the Office of President between 2006 and 2008, and recently honored as a Melvin Jones Fellow by the Club.   

Tracy also organized a successful Care-Package Program, which provided over 200 gift bags to American Troops serving in Iraq and Afghanistan. Tracy enjoys spending time with her family and friends, has 4 devoted “furry friends” which require her to stay employed to cover their expenses, and loves to spend time in her garden.

Lynn Bjorvik

License & Ordinance


Lynn Bjorvik was appointed to the Board of Trustees in July, 2002 as the Chairperson of the License & Ordinance Committee. She was elected to the same position in April, 2003, and has served as a Board Member for the last 11 years. Lynn is a graduate of East Leyden High School, Triton College and Elmhurst College.
For the past 10 years, Lynn has enjoyed a successful career as a Real Estate Broker and is currently with Century 21 McMullen. Prior to her real estate career, she was employed by Tribune Company and also as a Business Manager of a local law firm.

In addition to her role as Village Trustee, Lynn has volunteered her time in the community as a Girl Scout leader, River Grove Rockets Softball coach, and as a member of the Rhodes School PTA. Currently she is a member of the River Grove Lions Club and serves on The Board of Directors of the Grand Corridor Chamber of Commerce.
Lynn has been married to John “Bucky” Bjorvik (a life-long resident) for 28 years and they have two children.

Roger V. Sewell

Buildings & Grounds


Roger was born in Oak Park, Illinois. He attended Ascension grammar school and went on to play football, wrestling and baseball at Fenwick High School. After Fenwick, Roger attended North Central College in Naperville where he played football and wrote for the school newspaper. The Chronicle. He graduated with a degree in English and went to work full time at Veterans Park District.

At Veterans Park District, Roger started as a member of the maintenance staff, later earning a promotion to Assistant Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds in 1997. In 2001 he was promoted again, this time to Superintendent of Buildings and Grounds, a position which managed a yearly budget of almost $1.9 million. While at Veterans Park District, Roger gained valuable experience with municipal government, learning how to effectively manage a number of projects that focused on property redevelopment. While he personally spearheaded the renovation of nine of the district’s playgrounds including Trumbull Park in 2001, he also helped secure a government grant (OSLAD) to redevelop a vacant lot on Fullerton Avenue in Franklin Park that would become Latoria Park in November, 2002.

Today Roger works as a facilities manager at Fitch, Even, Tabin & Flannery in Chicago, a law firm which specializes in intellectual property. He is responsible for many of the day to day operations of the firm’s Chicago office on LaSalle Street as well as assisting attorneys with litigation in United States Northern District Court and patent prosecution in the United States Patent and Trademark Office in Washington, D.C.

Here in River Grove, Roger first served as a member of the Zoning Board of Appeals for four years before successfully running for Village Trustee in 2009. Now, as a member of the village board, he serves as the Chair of the Building and Grounds Committee and sits on both the Recreation and the License and Ordinance Committees.

At home, Roger recently celebrated his 16th wedding anniversary with his best friend, Margret C. Sewell. The Sewells have two children, a bunch of parakeets and goldfish and have lived on Leyden Avenue in River Grove since 1997. Roger has been a member of a number of local organizations including the River Grove Beautification Committee, River Grove Baseball, the Loyal Order of Moose, the River Grove Nationals, the River Grove Lions Club and St. Cyprian parish. He is also serves from time to time as an election judge here in River Grove.

Bob Thomas

Public Works



Robert C. "Bobby" Thomas, a lifetime resident River Grove resident, has served as a Village Trustee since 2011. Bobby and his wife Chrissy have two children and have been actively involved with many local organizations, including Little League Baseball, Rockets Softball, the River Park Moose Lodge, River Grove Nationals and the River Grove Lions Club. Bobby spent 21 years within the telecommunications industry, and is currently involved with business development in the vending industry. Before he was elected as a Village Trustee, Bobby served as a trustee of the River Grove Library District.
