Railroad Crossing at River Road

Will be closed for 10 days starting May 20th.

Metra will be reconstructing railroad crossings in concrete.

The success of our curbside recycling program is due to the residents who roll both carts to the curb. Those of you who and take the time to separate recycling saves everyone. By following handouts there is less trash in the recycling carts, which keeps its resale value high.

Important Information
door to door solicitors

Solicitation within the Village is done by permit and solicitors are screened and bonded. If they are not able to furnish proof call Police immediately. These laws were put into effect to protect the citizens of River Grove.


The River Grove Police Department, being funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation, will be aggressively enforcing DUI, Talk & Text and seat belt violations.

Please don't Talk & Text or drink and drive and always buckle your seat belt.



Watch your mail for new sticker applications.
Current Stickers must be displayed after June 30th. New residents have a 30 day grace period.
After June 30th
late fees apply.

NO  Village entity raises funds over the phone

Protect yourself from fraud:

  • Never give credit card numbers, social security numbers or any other personal information if you did not initiate the call.
  • Ask for the name, address and phone number of the caller. Check them out with the Village, Better Business Bureau or research them on the internet.
You can find out if a charity is registered with the state by checking with the Attorney Generals Charitable Trust Bureau at 312-814-2595


Please, if any stranger, claiming to work for the village, wants to enter your home or business, ALWAYS ASK FOR IDENTIFICATION. All village employees have been issued a picture I.D. and will gladly present it if asked. Know who you are letting into your home or business.
