Village of River Grove News

The River Grove Police Department, being funded by the Illinois Department of Transportation, will be aggressively enforcing DUI, Talk & Text and seat belt violations during the Labor Day holiday week. Enforcement activities will be from August 15th until September 1st, 2014 during daytime and nighttime hours. Enforcement will include stationary check points and mobile/roving activities.

Please don't Talk & Text or drink and drive and always buckle your seat belt.
Have a safe and enjoyable holiday weekend.

Congratulations River Grove Residents
You're all doing a great job!

The success of our curbside recycling program is due to the residents who roll both carts to the curb. Those of you who and take the time to separate recycling saves everyone. By following handouts there is less trash in the recycling carts, which keeps its resale value high.

Elm Street Reconstruction Project

The Villages of River Grove and Franklin Park have been collaboratively working since the Fall of 2011 to secure funding to address the condition of Elm Street between Grand Avenue and Belmont Avenue, of which the centerline serves as a common border of the two communities.  The Villages, through Mayor May and Mayor Pedersen and their respective Village Boards, worked with their legislators and the Illinois Department of Transportation to successfully secure 80% of the project costs with federal transportation dollars.  The remaining 20% of the project costs will be divided equally between the two communities.
