What is 100 Years / 100 Events?

The Forest Preserves of Cook County has been protecting and restoring land for 100 years, but preserving nature is only half our story. The other half is written by you, and how you choose to explore and connect with your preserves.

From September 20 to 27, we’re hosting over 100 events for our 100 Years / 100 Events centennial celebration. Join in one, or several, of the activities happening near you and start writing your part of the Forest Preserves story!

Cook County Camping is here!

Camping in the Cook County Forest Preserves is no longer limited to scouting groups. Three new campgrounds--with two more on the way--are now available to families, groups, and individuals of all ages.

Reservations are now being taken for Camp Reinberg in Palatine, Camp Shabbona Woods in South Holland, and Camp Sullivan in Oak Forest.

Congratulations River Grove Residents
You're all doing a great job!

The success of our curbside recycling program is due to the residents who roll both carts to the curb. Those of you who and take the time to separate recycling saves everyone. By following handouts there is less trash in the recycling carts, which keeps its resale value high.
